Now that many of the deposed judges have been restored and have taken fresh oaths, I am getting very much interested into the steps these re-instated judges will take for the freedom of the judiciary.

If my question do not come in contempt of court, I would like to know what steps are the judges taking, specially the re-instated judges for the freedom of the judiciary. How are they trying to ensure swift justice to the masses and quick disposal of the cases.

As to the common man, nothing is changing be it be democratic or dictorial form of government.

My car was stolen from Tariq Road, and was recovered in a days time.
Though I had installed a tracker system in my car, with the feeling that I would not be required to go thru the legal process in case my car is snatched or stolen and will be receoved and handed over to me by the tracker company. This proved to be other wise.
More so becuase the tracker company with the help of the police were able to catch the culprits, and for this an FIR is necessary as the theives were caught in the car.

I had to register an FIR (First Information Report) to report my car being stolen. FIR bribe: Rs. 500

Now that the FIR has been registered, I cannot drive my car as the car is not yet cleared from police and taxation depoartment as it has been reported stolen.

So now I had to have it cleared from the excise department, requesting them that the car has been receovered and that it should be given a NOC so we may drive it again.

Then we had to have a clearance from the court, that our car was stolen and recovered, and that the court is requested to hand over the car to us. The court then goes thru the proceedings and make a final order.

We also had to submit a Rs. 500000 bond in the court, promising that we will not sell our recoevered car , and that if the court demands we will present the car in the court for any legal proceedings or requirement.

BRIBE thru out this process comes to around Rs. 5000
Total Bribe so far RS.5500
Total Time for all this process : depends on how good you can bargain , but it took us around 1 month to have this all cleared.

So finally we can now drive our car again on the road.

WE are more afraid of the legal system than the theives, as the theives will strike do their bit and will leave us, but reporting the theft incident to the police so more fearful, as we have to go thru the trauma of telling the police how it happened, where is happened, and at times police will try to implicate the victim in the case.

Anyhowm, the car is back so we can drive it again , but what will happen when we will have to sell the car ?

We will have to have the bond cancelled.
A final report to be obtained from the court and then submitted to the excise department and then closing the case and FIR.

Again this process will take around 2 months and some 25000 PKR.
But since we are not going to sell our car any time soon, we can have some peace of mind for the time being :)

Whenever a big terrorist attack happens, like the Marriot hotel blast, the whole of the world leaders denounce and pledge that they will fight terrorism and will not let the terrorist succeed and will not play in their hands.

However, soon after the bomb blast the USA and UK high commissions suspended visa services in Pakistan.
British Airways suspended its flight to Pakistan, along with numerous other such happenings.

Is this making the terrorist succeed in their mission ? Isnt closing the visa service and suspending the flights to Pakistan sendign the right message to the terrorists, that if they continue doing such things, the world will abandon Pakistan ?

ICC champions trophy was to be held in Pakistan from Sept 12th to 27th September 2008.

The Matches were to be held in Karachi, Pindi, Multan, Lahore etc

If the cricket teams would have agreed to visit Pakistan, which they did not due to security reason in Pakistan, they were most likely to be staying in Marriot Hotel, Islamabad.

God Forbid, If this would have happened then today the cricket world might have been deprived of some players , and Pakistan would have been left in total isolation with no team agreeing to visit pakistan.

Such is the reputation of Pakistan now , that i dont think that even bangladesh or oman cricket team would agree to visit pakistan , let along Australia or England.

Despite many assurances by Pakistan cricket board about the securty of the teams, suicide bombing and terrorist attacks seems inevitable at the moment.

Marriot Hotel, Islamabad's bomb blast occurred at a critical time.

Firstly, the newly sworn in president addressed the parliament a few hours ago and then the next day the president had to fly to USA to address the UN general assemble session and to meet US President bush and Indian Primeminister Manmohan Singh.

"The meeting comes amid tension between the two countries over US attacks on militants in tribal areas of Pakistan, close to the Afghan border."

The blast comes at a time when the world will be reminded again about war on terrorism , and Pakistan will once again be pressed hard to act against terrorism. Presindent Asif Ali Zardari, like ex-president musharraf will be pressed hard to act against terrorism.

This incident also occured at a time when Pakistan was getting opposed to US operation in the Pakistani terroritory and there was some misunderstanding and, unlikingly. some hard words were being communicated by Pakistan to the USA about the action in the Pakistani trbial area.

This comes as a reminder to Pakistan that they still have a big threat of terrorism and once again pressed hard to act against it.

The suicide bombers have striked places of worships, mosques, churches etc , hotels, ordanance factory, excise office in Lahore and so many other places. If this is being carried out by Islamic extremist , then attacking places of worhsip like mosque and madressah seems beyong apprehehnsion of ones understanding , as it is believed that they want islamic law to be implemented in Pakistan , so why attack mosque and madressahs ?

This is some thing baffling. No single place has been spared be it mosque, madressah, school, public place, hotel etc.

The purpose of this seems to be some thing else.

Ever since 9/11 not a single terrorist attack happening again in the USA, but we in pakistan have to face it very more often. Being in the frontline we are far more exposed to casualities than we might have thoughts or anticipated.

We are facing it, and learning to cope up with it.

We are facing a terror and fear we have never been used to before.
Mugging , snatching, lotting, theft, dacotiy were some of the things we have learned to cope up with , but this new for of bomb explosions and suicide bombings are some thing which we never heard before.

Infact the only suicide bombing we ever heard before were of TAMIL Tigers in Srilanka.

It does not make sense that ever since 9/11 the number of suicide bombings have increased and every second bomb blast is taken as suicing bombing, which we never heard before 9/11.

In Pakistan, big corporates and multinationals, despite the odds have intorduced and implemented work environment that is not common in Pakistan.

The have introduced a condusive work environment, corporate and work ethics, health and cleanliness, time scheduing etc.

However, a courteous waiter in a restaurant becomes a rouge driver when he is out to make a delivery for the restaurant. Same is true for courier riders and water delivery vans.

The riders and drivers dont seem to follow the law when they are on the roads on company work, and are often seen breaking the traffice signals, going wrong way, parking the car / bike at unathorized locations / no parkings, zig-zag haphazzard driving, speeding away and other such issues.

If the companies can implement strong working ethics at their workplace, they should also be accountable about the way their riders are driving when they are out on the roads for official work.
